Parnelli Awards Nominations Now Open

The Parnelli Awards is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Parnelli Awards to be held in Anaheim on Friday, January 26, 2018. Anyone can go to the ParnelliAwards.com site and nominate live event professionals and companies who exemplify the best of the best in our industry. General nominations concludes on October 31, 8:00 a.m. PST, and the top vote-getters will then be announced, with the final official Parnelli Ballot opening on November 3. They will be the official 2018 Parnelli Awards nominees, and one in each category will receive their “best of the year” award at the show.

Nominations for “Indispensable Technology” (IT) Awards are also open, so be sure to vote on what new audio, lighting, staging, and video product that you believe to be the best of the year. Hometown Hero nominees for both sound and lighting have concluded, so now go vote for regional production companies that are the best in your region.

The Parnelli Awards, the live event industry’s highest honor, were founded in 2001 by PLSN/FOH magazine publisher Terry Lowe and production/tour manager Patrick Stansfield. They are named after Rick “Parnelli” O’Brien, a beloved and admired tour profession who was lost to cancer in 2000. As a production manager, he was always at the top of his game; as a human being, he personified the “four H’s:” Humanity, Humility, Honesty, and Humor. With this gathering, we remind ourselves of these virtues and hope we can be inspired by the legacy this great guy left behind.
