The Parnelli Awards Move to NAMM 2018 in Anaheim, CA

April 16, 2017

ANAHEIM, CA — NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, and Timeless Communications Corp. (TCC), publishers of Projection Lights & Staging News (PLSN), FRONT of HOUSE (FOH) and Stage Directions, have formed a strategic alliance to promote NAMM’s new initiative to better serve the live event production community at its annual trade show in Anaheim. In addition to heavily promoting the event, TCC will be bringing its premier award show for the industry, the Parnelli Awards, to the NAMM show. The Parnelli Awards will take place on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 in the Pacific Ballroom of the Hilton Anaheim Hotel.

“With our shared passion for music, we believe that the live event and production professionals are kindred spirits with the manufacturer, distributor and retail members of NAMM,” said Joe Lamond, President and CEO of NAMM. “By working closely together to drive innovation, provide career enhancing networking and education opportunities and of course to experience the amazing new sound and lighting product introductions on the NAMM Show floor, our attendees will be better prepared for success in 2018.”

The NAMM show has evolved and expanded in the audio, lighting and technology space, and with the addition of the new Anaheim Convention Center Hall ACC North coming on line for the 2018 show, the NAMM team will be able to meet the pent-up and new demand coming from these sectors. In addition, the Arena traditionally housing exhibitors will now be used as a learning center for real-world demos of lighting, staging, projection, and audio gear.

The goal with the NAMM Show has been to create a stable, reliable platform for the global music and sounds products industry and for the professionals who make their living using these products. The show has become a virtual “crossroads” of the musical ecosystem, where industry segments have their own distinct events but also benefit from the interaction of all segments coming together in the numerous networking events and on the trade show floor. New product ideas, concepts and innovations naturally flow out of this gathering of the musical tribes.

New in 2018, the show will provide a comprehensive learning platform incorporating panel sessions on business concerns for rental/staging companies, touring, and production panels, along with hands-on technology learning environments. This educational partnership will benefit from the extensive experience of NAMM University and TEC Tracks in creating relevant and high value education for this important constituency.

“Finally, the entire performance/production community will be together under one roof,” remarked Terry Lowe, President of Timeless Communications, Corp. “We are committing all our resources behind this to ensure this partnership’s success. And this is an especially great move for the Parnelli Awards. As we’ve watched it grow in stature and prestige over the years, we’ve known it deserves a more fitting place, and there is no other show like NAMM. This move allows us to take the show to the next level.”

The NAMM Show will be held Jan. 25-28, 2018 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
